Rohini Tamil Selvan, 19

who took part in the World Skills Singapore 2012 competition and won medals.

Rohini won the Bronze medal in the Beauty Therapy category at the competition in her excellant skill. She has also received the Gold medal for emerging as the top student in the Beauty Therapy course and had also receive a SINDA award.

Rohini, who has been interested in Beauty Therapy since young, has been offering beauty services as a freelancer since she was 17 years old.

​

After 3 qualifying rounds, 8 students were chosen out of 20 students to train for the competition. After intensive training, only 4 students were finally chosen to represent ITE at the competition.

The Beauty Skills Competiton was against, students from private beauty school.

Rohini believes that her hardwork and intensive training during the holidays equipped her with the skills to be in the top 3 winning a medal at the competition.

Whenever she felt tired or wanted to give up, her mother was her source of support and strength. She hopes to be a professional in beauty therapy one day.
